Dr. Roller: Thousands of successful bariatric surgeries

Dr. Roller is the most experienced bariatric surgeon in the region and has performed more than 9,000 bariatric procedures (weight loss surgeries) including the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic modified and traditional duodenal switch, lap gastric banding, and the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy with outstanding results. He was the first bariatric surgeon in the region to perform the laparoscopic duodenal switch procedure, which is the most complex of all the weight loss surgeries.

An advanced, fellowship-trained laparoscopic surgeon

Dr. Roller was the first fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon and advanced laparoscopic surgeon in the State of Arkansas. He performs state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgical procedures, using the same techniques and methods to perform the kinds of procedures you’ll find at major medical centers across the country.

Minimally invasive techniques for faster healing and superior outcomes

Dr. Roller has performed several laparoscopic surgical procedures that had previously never been performed in Northwest Arkansas, including totally laparoscopic pancreas, rectal, bile duct, and gastric (stomach) procedures.

In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr. Josh Roller has extensive experience in other advanced laparoscopic general surgical procedures including colon/rectal resection, adrenalectomy, splenectomy, gastrectomy, pancreatectomy, Nissen fundoplication, para esophageal hernia repair, inguinal and ventral/incisional hernia repair.

Dr. Roller believes that the minimally invasive approach to surgery is in his patients’ best interest, as it’s associated with less pain, shorter hospital stays, lower infection rates, and a quicker return to work.

Dr. Roller is a compassionate, caring individual with outstanding surgical skills for bariatric surgery and a range of minimally invasive surgical procedures. Read what his patients have to say:

They are truly wonderful!

The Roller team is with you every step of the way from visits with the dietician, education, pre surgery, and of course post-surgery. There are consistent check-ins and follow-ups, and they have a nurse line to call anytime you have a question. They are patient, kind, and so supportive. They are truly wonderful. This is a journey, and they are here with you for the long haul. This is what makes them different.

The entire Roller team has been completely amazing.

I had weight loss surgery with Dr Roller almost two months ago. Dr. Roller and the entire Roller team has been completely amazing since my very first appointment. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to take this step in their life.

The best place and people!

I jumped right in and picked them and I couldnt be more happy with my decision. So glad to have had Dr Josh Roller perform my surgery and to have this amazing ground of people by my side on this journey to a better me.

Their team is outstanding!!!

Dr. Roller, Dr. Kwon, and their team are outstanding!!! They have the best tools to make sure you are going to do this right. I’m five months out from surgery, I’m down 60 pounds and I’ve never felt better. I have gone from taking 20 prescription pills and four insulin shots daily to now taking three prescription pills daily and NO MORE INSULIN (was taken off all diabetic medications at six weeks post-op). This is the best decision I have ever made for myself! I encourage ANYONE who is contemplating weight loss surgery, DO IT. Don’t wait, CHOOSE YOU! This will be the best decision you will ever make for yourself!

Such a great experienc

Have had such a great experience with Dr. Roller and his team, through his Fayetteville location ,and the Tulsa location. Excellent care, and a warm and friendly staff. Thanks so much for teaching me a better way!

I was treated as a person

Starting with my first visit- through surgery and afterwards, I was treated as a person- not a number.Josh Roller, MD was my surgeon. He was so personable and gave me hope. Sara McDonald APRN continues to be an incredible support and education on health. I went from hopeless to “hope filled” and a new opportunity with a healthy life.
