OUR WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM
Why Choose Roller Weight Loss & Advanced Surgery?
At Roller Weight Loss & Advanced Surgery, our team of surgeons, physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, and professional staff evaluate and counsel patients from start to finish of their weight loss journey. Our weight loss program uses a unique team approach with the foundation of devotion and passion for what we do, inspiring both life-changing and life-saving results. When you choose Team Roller, you choose us for life. You will receive the attention and care that is necessary for long-term success, meaning little-to-no weight regain and efforts to prevent possible nutritional or other health issues.
Our team offers all of the available surgical weight loss procedures: Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, Traditional and Modified Duodenal Switch, Lap-Band procedure, vertical sleeve gastrectomy, and the Orbera intragastric Balloon. Dr. Josh Roller, Dr. Yong Kwon, and Dr. Jaime Dutton perform all of these procedures using advanced, minimally invasive, surgical techniques (laparoscopic surgery). These techniques lead to a much quicker recovery and much less pain than the other traditional methods. Our facilities are state-of-the-art, and patients have the benefit of private rooms during their brief hospital stays. Additionally, our office is the most advanced bariatric surgery office in the country, offering patients the convenience of getting their entire pre-operative in the clinic. Patients save significant amounts of time and money given our single location and our ability to frequently lessen recovery time.
Our team of surgeons is the only group of fellowship-trained bariatric surgeons in Arkansas and Oklahoma, performing more than 99% of procedures using minimally invasive surgical techniques. We have served patients primarily from Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma, southern Missouri, and southeastern Kansas. That being said, patients do travel from across the country–including New York, Oregon, Florida, Michigan, and Georgia– to see Dr. Roller, who has received national recognition for excellence in weight loss surgery. We welcome patients from all over to visit our center with hopes of achieving substantial, lasting weight loss. It is our goal to be the premier Arkansas bariatric surgery program.
To learn more, you are invited to watch our free online seminar “Surgical Weight Loss: Is it right for me?” presented by the bariatric surgeons at Roller Weight Loss & Advanced Surgery. In this seminar, our surgeons will discuss obesity and its complications, weight loss surgery options, our program, and how we can help. Additionally, our professionals can answer questions about specific surgeries, outcomes, and follow-up procedures.
Weight Loss Surgery
The goal of weight loss surgery is to help you live better, healthier, and longer. Weight loss surgery (or bariatric surgery) is a major decision, meaning that many things must be considered by both the surgeon and the patient before moving forward with the procedure. The surgery can contribute to major weight loss and improvement of obesity-related health problems, but you will have to make behavioral and dietary changes to achieve lasting weight loss results.
Weight loss surgery is not cosmetic surgery. It is a life-saving procedure. Successful weight loss surgery often results in better mobility, more energy, and greater confidence. The true goal of the surgery, however, is to restore your health.
We invite you to watch one of our seminars to learn more from our surgeons and professional staff. They will be able to clearly answer your questions and explain the details of the procedure, the recovery, and the changes you will need to make to have successful results.
During your first appointment at Roller Weight Loss & Advanced Surgery, you will meet with our bariatric medical specialist for an extensive medical evaluation. All the appropriate tests will be performed at this appointment and any necessary consultations from other specialists will be conducted. In addition, you will meet with one of our bariatric dietitians to review both pre- and post-op nutritional plans. You will also be evaluated by our bariatric psychologist if clinically indicated or required by your insurance company.
It is important to remember that there are no absolute guarantees when it comes to any type of medicine or surgery. There can be unexpected outcomes in even the simplest procedures. That being said, we believe that weight loss surgery will succeed when you make a lifelong commitment to increasing your activity level, eating healthier and attending all of the required follow-up appointments at our office. We want to watch you thrive, so we offer as much assistance as you may need along the way, including monthly support groups and an active online patient community.
Ultimately, the decision to have weight loss surgery is up to you. Be honest with yourself about whether or not you’re ready. We will be here for you no matter what.
